The 1989 Embassy World Snooker Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 15 April–1 May 1989 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England.
Steve Davis won in the final 18–3 against John Parrott. This was Davis's sixth and last world title.

* Davis won by the biggest margin ever at a World Snooker Championship when he beat John Parrott 18–3 in the final to win his sixth title to equal Ray Reardon's total since the competition was re-launched in 1969. * Eddie Charlton defeated Cliff Thorburn 10–9 in the first round.
